Decatur City Schools Teacher Pay Scale

The following contain the pay scale for Decatur City School teachers based upon the individuals educational degree and years of experience.

Select the pay scale step and years of experience to see the yearly pay rate for each educational degree held.

*Individuals with a baccalaureate degree or higher may be eligible for certification as a teacher in Alabama.

*Individuals can choose to become certified through an Alabama-approved program, reciprocal agreements with other states, or through recognition of your certification and experience elsewhere.

*Individuals who apply to become a teacher in Alabama also must meet the requirements of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Testing Program (APTTP).

*Alternatively, individuals can choose to become certified as an Alabama teacher by taking a State-approved teacher education program.

*Substitute must hold a current valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate which must be on file in the Personnel Office.
