Backhoe driver hurt in collision

Troopers investigate a wreck on Alabama 20 in Hillsboro involving a backhoe and an 18-wheeler Tuesday morning.

MedFlight transported the backhoe driver, Terry Rose, 45, of Hillsboro, to Huntsville Hospital, where a hospital spokeswoman said he was listed in fair condition.

Firefighters at the scene said it appeared Rose suffered a head injury, and troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
