Woman hurt after SUV slams into Decatur house

A sport utility vehicle knocked this house at 3319 Danville Road S.W. four inches off its foundation after the SUV ran off the road at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Decatur police said.

The driver, Ashley Palmer, 27, of Hartselle, was trapped in the SUV for 45 minutes before she was extricated and flown to Huntsville Hospital by MedFlight.

A hospital spokeswoman said Palmer was listed in fair condition.
