Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia, telling the world that we are not a "christian nation" and now nationalizing our medical care. I hope the ones that wanted a "CHANGE" are happy now. Next will be the nationalizing of all of the banks, then comes "gun control". He has already proposed the "cap" on executives and CEO's, salaries but, he didn't "cap" any Senator or Congressman and himself did he? I am not a socialist or communist. Nor do I foresee a day when this country takes that route.

Playing with words like "zar" (sic) just shows your ignorance of both history and current events. While Russia had its "czars," the term is used today to refer to the head of a department or initiative. It has nothing to do with monetary policy, dictatorship or communism.

As far as "socialized medicine," I personally believe the current system is broken. I believe these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That includes health care (ie life) -- even though 45 million Americans have no access to health care. I personally went to a local physician last year and forgot to take my insurance card. The physician refused to treat me, even though I offered to pay cash in full in advance. Do you see nothing wrong with this picture? I think the president and Congress can come up with a better system, and yes, even YOU will benefit from it.

We are a nation of Christians (and Jews, and Muslims, and Buddhists, and Hindus, and many other faiths). We are not a Christian nation. We broke away from Britain 230-plus years ago just so would NOT be a Christian nation, but that all men would be free to worship (or not) as they want. We are a secular nation of mostly Christians. For an example of a non-secular nation, look at Iran. I don't really suppose that's what you want.

In spite of all the fear inspired by the NRA and conservative radio and TV, law-abiding Americans will always be able to keep their guns. But the fear sure works well for the demagogues when elections roll around. Don't you feel in the least indignant at being used in this manner?

One thing I agree with: You're in for a looooong period of change. But I believe it will be eight years, not four. You might be better off to enjoy the prosperity and global good-will this change will bring instead of cowering about what you are so certain will happen because Fox News told you so. Be a happy person. Good things are happening all around you. Enjoy the fact that you live in the greatest country in the world, and it is getting better every day.

You have the right to persue anything you wish. You do not have the right to force anyone to pay for what you want. There are lots of things we would like to have but are not able to. That is life that all of us face. There are no guarantees or promises. I for one would like to have a new heart, as mine is failing. But no one not anyone should have to pay for mine.

Yes we are a nation of many religions but this nation did not leave England to be anything but a free to choose nation. When those people came here no one said I deserve anything other than a chance.

Walk into a school to see the number of students that are getting free lunches wearing a hundred dollar pair of shoes. Because of their parents choices. NOT the kids fault, but their parents who are probably the same generation of yours that believe they deserve. Their choices are shown by a hundred dollar pair of shoes, and free lunches. I can say this as a child who received reduced lunches, but parents who made those choices as they shopped at GoodWill for our clothes, and shoes. No cable, no cellphones, no McDonalds their choices to have the necessary things in life not the desires.

I'm going to waste a little breath here, but it makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Barack Obama is not a socialist Marxist communist Kenyan-born leader of a Muslim terrorist sleeper cell. He is not a Manchurian candidate waiting for his Saudi handlers to give him the secret handshake. He's a democratically elected president of one of the most powerful countries in the world, and he deserves the same level of respect as anyone else who has ever held that office. In my lifetime, there have been presidents I've agreed with and presidents I wish hadn't stepped foot in the Oval Office, but I've rarely seen the level of absolute malice towards a newly elected president as I've seen this year. Is it truly motivated by fears of communism, socialism or Marxism, or is it more of a case of sour grapes because we didn't vote the white...I mean, right...candidate into office?

This is incorrect. The Pilgirms broke away from Britian so they could have the freedom to worship JEHOVAH GOD in the manner they saw fit, not necessarily what the King ordered. Even though the trip took 65 days, and they wound up not exactly landing where they thought they would, they spent three days worshipping and thanking God. The harsh new England winter took it's toll and almost half of the Pilgrims died. When the spring came, they planted crops and began a new life in America. They spent this time thanking God for their freedom. This nation was founded on Biblical beliefs, one of those being 'love your neighbor'. It doesn't say condone any sin, and the only unforgiveable sin is dying without accepting Jesus. Instead of accepting it as 'right' that people are worshipping statues or whatever else- we should be praying for them and helping them to see the error of their thinking. And that, is NOTHING like Iran. This is CHRISTIAN nation that needs to get its act together and look back to God!

It is sad that so many have been misled into such a fearful and hateful, unhappy state. Fortunately, the majority has not been duped. I am praying that y'all find happiness. True joy, after all, is not found in kingdoms or in men.

I don't care if the president is black or white. I care about what he does for me and what he does to move the country forward. I did not vote for him nor will I vote for him in 4 years. During the race for the oval office, he said that my taxes wouldn't go up one cent. He has borrowed so much money to fund his stimulus package and it would be crazy to think that your taxes are not going to go up to pay for it. It may not be a direct tax increase but it will be little tax here and there. Who is going to fund his health care package. According to the president, taxing health benefits is not off the table. So it will be my taxes that are going to help pay. I feel for people who don't have insurance. If you are sick through no fault of your own and can't get it, then something needs to be done. Why should I pay for someone who doesn't work,won't work to pay for theirs??? I can't tell you how many people I pick up that want to go to the hosp. by ambulance because it is free and there is nothing wrong with them that is life threatening. Let me tell you how many people with sore throats, stubbed toes, no ride will call for an ambulance because it is free. It IS NOT free. Tax payers are paying for it. The worst thing we have ever done in this country is to start giving and giving and giving to people who think they are entitled to something just because someone else has it. I won't vote for Obama in the next election. Not because of his color as someone else said in an earlier comment. I won't vote for him because I can't afford to.
