2 accidents tie up traffic in Priceville

Priceville police had their hands full with two wrecks on Alabama 67 less than a mile apart that tied up traffic for more than an hour Friday afternoon.

The first collision occurred just before 3 p.m. in the area of Shoal Creek Road, according to radio reports.

No injuries

No one was hurt, but police had to stop traffic to move the vehicles from the roadway.

At 3:40 p.m., as officers were still on the scene with the first wreck, two trucks collided in front of Meadow Lane, police said.

Lanes closed

Police closed both northbound and southbound lanes of Alabama 67 as ambulances took two injured victims from the second wreck to Decatur General Hospital, according to radio reports.

Police said victims suffered only minor injuries, and traffic resumed its normal flow by 4:30 p.m.
