MONTGOMERY — Alabama lawmakers who still take taxpayer-funded trips are doing it less often, and others are paying their own way or getting the organizations hosting the events and conferences to fund their travel.
In the House, representatives have spent $126,721 on state-paid travel since taking office almost four years ago. That’s compared to the $765,103 total in the previous quadrennium, according to records from the Statehouse and the website www.open.alabama.gov.
