MONTGOMERY — Alabama hunters now have 24 hours to report to the state the deer and turkeys they kill, a new rule that is bothering at least one north Alabama lawmaker.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ “game check” rule is designed to monitor deer and turkey populations and the number of animals killed each year.
