Energy policy: Drill everywhere, vote for Republicans
To The Daily: For several decades the Democrats have pursued policies designed to drive up the cost of petroleum and blocked most Republican ideas. They stifle our nation’s ability to develop our own known vast energy resources.
Remarkably, the Dems haven’t taken much of a political hit for the $4 gas price and its impact on our economy.
Probably that’s because most people don’t realize how different the two parties’ energy policies have been.
Most Republicans believe the key to our future is sensible exploration of our oil resources and an expanded commitment to alternative forms of energy, like nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal hydrogen power and practical conservation.
Democrats have a plan as well — to resurrect Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton’s failed energy policies of raising taxes, increasing regulation, filing more lawsuits and blaming America. We tried Mr. Carter’s solution — it only made things worse and it won’t work now.
Drill here, drill now and pay less.
