I don't know why, but it really irks me that this company will say nothing to the local media, and has nothing on its Web site acknowledging the changes. They have jacked up prices in the store. I will probably not using Piggly World, or whatever they're calling it this week, for my major food shopping anymore. I'll drive across town to Publix. You have to go to the Beltline for everything else anyway.

Piggly Wiggly has always been highers on shelf items but their meat prices are fantastic. I buy my meat from PW and then on to Kroger for the shelf items. I hate to see them go, Food World I never cared to much for.

Ben, What prices are you talking about? Just came from there and I am happy and did not see any higher prices. Johnson quit wasting gas.

Ben, If you're price shopping Publix is not the place. Publix is great but they are definately not the cheapest in town.

I shop at different groc stores in Decatur, all of them have about the same prices on shelve items unless it is their brand, which are cheaper. Glad to hear Food World is back, always liked them, especially the Deli and Bakery.

They think that bring the FOOD WORLD sign back in with the same stuff on the shelves is going to bring people back in. Its the name Piggly Wiggly they are shying away from....its not very prestigous sounding is it.
