4 teens charged in Tuskegee Airman's carjacking

DETROIT (AP) — Four teenagers have been charged in Detroit with carjacking an 88-year-old World War II veteran who's a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says the 13- to 16-year-olds were to face preliminary hearings Monday at the Juvenile Detention Center.

Authorities say one of the teens placed a gun to the man's head Saturday afternoon while his accomplices took the man's car keys.

They were arrested Sunday.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of black combat pilots who trained in Alabama and served in World War II. They helped pave the way for desegregation in the U.S. military.

oh yes the thug life is so fine , what a ridiculous thing for them to do to their elders , they respect no one , or each other , and everyone wonders why they are profiled

Thank god the gentleman was not harmed he paid his dues , thank you for your service

This man stood up and fought for his country even though his country thought because of his race that he was not capable of flying an aircraft. He and his fellow black citizens had to prove that they were capable of fighting for our country. They performed superbly. Now these young cut throats DARE attack him when he is probably not capable of defending himself ?? I hope they pay a severe price for their crime ! I wish that this country doled out lashes from a whip like new Zeland does ! That is what these punks deserve.
