While Protestants, Catholics, agnostics, and atheists differ on issues, all respect the pope's learning and sober reflection, all, that is, except for Snooki, President Obama, Britney Spears, the Decatur Daily and the Rev. Mattingly, who, astoundingly, reject St. Augustine, Confucius, Mohammed, Martin Luther, Siddartha Gautema (the Buddha), and the remainder of the world's foremost minds of all time. What great thinkers or intellectual works does the Decatur Daily rely on for social guidance? The readership would like to measure these authors against the aforementioned backdrop.

Please Otis, your list is overwhelming. Buddha had no regard for a rule making god, nor did Confucius. What may be best for society is yet to be seen except that prejudice against a class of other law abiding citizens should not be condoned.
