HUNTSVILLE — Berryhill Funeral Home on Memorial Parkway will announce arrangements for a 3-year-old Morgan County girl killed in a wreck this week, a funeral home employee said Friday.
Kaitlyn Reid died early Thursday at Huntsville Hospital from injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers said the wreck occurred at 12:37 p.m. on U.S. 231 at mile marker 300, four miles south of Huntsville. The crash site in Morgan County, near Morgan City, is at U.S. 231 and Apple Grove Road.
Troopers said Kaitlyn was riding in a 1998 Honda minivan, driven by Jordyn Elizabeth Nielsen, 19, of Lacey’s Spring. Nielsen, the mother of Kaitlyn, was injured, along with Kaitlyn’s sister, Brylie Nielsen, 2 months, troopers said.
Troopers said Jordyn Nielsen was wearing a seat belt and that the children were in child restraint seats.
Jordyn Nielsen’s mother, according to WAAY-TV, is owner of Lite 96.9 WRSA-FM radio.
Troopers said the other vehicle, a 2010 Cadillac sport utility vehicle, was driven by Leah Suzanne Osborne Keith, 46. She was also reported injured, along with her passengers, Wiley Osborne, 76, and Lyndsey Keith, 22, all of Union Grove. All three were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
The Honda sustained major front-end damage and overturned in a ditch along the highway.
A Huntsville Hospital spokeswoman said Friday all those reported injured by troopers were not in the hospital’s system.
