Prison labor would be great, if it's for free...or are they going to make nearly 15.00 per/hr like they did before when they worked on the courthouse? If they are paid one dime it is too much. The hard working citizens of Athens and Limestone County are providing much of the funding for this project through their tax dollars and if this library actually does get built it should be done by the contractors and sub contractors in the area...not prisoners as such in the past. Saying that projects that were built in the past were successfully built by prison labor is very much a stretch. The state fire marshall has come down on the current county commission due to the lack of planning or even the use of architectural plans during the 2 1/2 yr build of the first floor of the courthouse in which much of the contruction took place using prison labor under Seibert's direction. Many fellow Limestone County residents don't even understand how bad it still could be. When contruction resumes on the remaining floors, state inspectors may have the county remove much of the first floor contruction if it is found that it was not put in according to state code.
