ATHENS — The City Council will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Friday to discuss plans for a new city hall.
The council set aside $2 million for construction of a city hall where the old city hall on once sat at Hobbs and Marion streets. The city demolished the southern half of city hall and the fire station in March. The old council chambers and conference room were not destroyed.
