Auburn received good news Sunday when its highest-rated 2013 football recruit reaffirmed his plan to sign with Auburn on Wednesday, the first day high school seniors can sign letters of intent.
Carl Lawson, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end from Milton High in Alpharetta, Ga., is rated a five-star recruit.
Auburn.247sports.com reported that Lawson posted the following to Twitter on Sunday:
“This will successfully end my recruitment I am an Auburn Tiger. No questions will be answered no calls will be accepted.
"Haven’t felt this light on my feet in a while. The weight of the world is off my shoulders #WDE."
Lawson was in Auburn this weekend after making earlier official visits to Clemson and Tennessee.
Lawson is rated the nation’s No. 1 weakside defensive end and No. 24 overall prospect by 247Sports.
