Austin scores 10 on Red Devils

Sydney Dishman hit a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs as Austin High beat Class 5A No. 2 Lawrence County 10-5 Thursday afternoon.

Mallory Malone and Abby Claborn each added solo home runs for Austin (1-1), while Addi McNutt finished with a triple and two RBIs.

Anna Leigh Mitchell got the pitching win, striking out five while giving up three hits in the complete game.

Mariah Campbell added a double for Austin.

Whitney Woodard led Lawrence County (4-3-1) with a single and two RBIs, while Adrien Coffey had a double for the Red Devils.

Hatton 9, West Morgan 3: Hillary Carpenter struck out three in seven innings to get the pitching win.

Carpenter allowed two earned runs and five hits.

Carey Grace Peebles led Class 2A No. 1 Hatton with two singles and two RBIs, while Jami Hunter finished with a double and two RBIs. Victoria Crumpton, Danya Snead, Carpenter and Boston Claborn each had one hit and an RBI.

Hatton plays Shoals Christian in the FCA Invitational today at 6 p.m. in Florence.

Ardmore 7, James Clemens 2: Miranda Mitchell got the pitching win, giving up four hits while striking out four.

Savannah Whitt led Ardmore (4-3) at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs, while Stratton Hobbs and Samantha Allen each had a double. Alexis Morrison added a single for the Tigers.

Ardmore travels to Decatur on Monday.

Danville 17, Hanceville 0: Savannah Bolton and Andrea Carter combined to pitch a perfect game as ninth-ranked Danville cruised to a Class 3A, Area 14 win.

Hanna Grace Sherrill and Shelby Beck led Danville (4-1, 1-0 in Area 14) with three hits each, while Calli Ryan hit a homer. Michelle Clem and Sloan Lindsey finished with two RBIs each, and Bailey King added a hit and an RBI.

Danville travels Saturday to Grant to play in a tournament.

Colbert County 20, East Lawrence 15: Alex Hopkins and Rylee Eskridge led East Lawrence (2-3) with two hits and two RBIs each.

Anna Kate Segars finished with three hits for East Lawrence, while Lori Terry had one hit and two RBIs. Brandi Terry, Nisha Tramell and Emily Shelton added two hits each for the Eagles.

Decatur Heritage 8, Vinemont 5: Peyton Barthel hit a home run and a single and led from the mound through seven innings, striking out eight and allowing six walks, five runs and four hits.

Matilda Hill finished with a triple and Taylor Townsend added two doubles in the win. Bekah Voss, Blakely Stephenson and Hill all singled in the win at Vinemont.

The Eagles (7-1) visit Gulf Shores on Monday.

Decatur Heritage 20, St. Bernard 1: Voss finished with a home run, a triple and a single as the Eagles beat host St. Bernard in three innings.

Chan Sparkman led from the mound, striking out eight and allowing one run, two walks and three hits.

Barthel finished with a double and a single in the win, while Stephenson added two doubles and Bridget Bradford hit two singles.
