Austin stays perfect in area play

Sydney Dishman led Austin High with 13 kills and 13 digs as the Lady Black Bears remained perfect in Class 6A, Area 15 with a 3-0 win Thursday at Florence.

Austin won 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Raven Wade finished with six aces and six kills for Austin (7-9, 2-0 in Area 15), while Jordan Halbrooks had 14 assists. Addi McNutt added four assists and Audra Reeves had two blocks.

Austin hosts Hartselle and Lee-Huntsville on Monday.

Priceville 2, Decatur 1: Alison Varner had eight kills and 13 assists, while Alex Moore finished with 11 kills to lead Priceville in a win against Decatur.

Priceville won 25-17, 25-27, 16-14.

McKenzie Parker recorded seven kills for Priceville. Kayla Parton led the Lady Bulldogs with 20 digs, while Peyton Parker had 23 assists.

Brewer 2, Priceville 0: Varner led Priceville with nine kills and Peyton Parker had eight assists in the loss.

Brewer won 25-13, 27-25.

Parton led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 digs.

West Morgan sweeps tri-match: Kristen Parrish finished with 20 kills and two aces as West Morgan swept Holly Pond and Good Hope.

West Morgan defeated Holly Pond 25-19, 25-22. The Lady Rebels beat Good Hope 25-18, 25-20.

Candice Davidson amassed 51 assists to lead West Morgan (9-5) in the two matches while adding three aces and two kills. Mary Kelley finished with 12 kills and four blocks, while Hannah Amos added three aces.

Decatur Heritage 2, St. Bernard 0: Janaye Lykins led the Lady Eagles with five kills, while Gabriell Jeffreys and Maddie Vinton each added four kills.

Savanna Naylor finished with 10 assists to lead Decatur Heritage.

She added five aces and three kills.

Danville sweeps tri-match: Sydni Shelton and Andrea Carter combined for 34 kills as the Lady Hawks beat Haleyville and East Lawrence.

Danville defeated Haleyville 25-18, 19-25, 15-13. The Lady Hawks beat East Lawrence 25-5, 25-20.

Shelton led Danville with 24 kills and Carter added 10.

Charlee Anderson finished with 37 assists and eight digs, while Sloan Lindsey added seven digs. Kellee Stiles had six aces for Danville and Crystal Carter added four.
