Peyton Miller blasted three home runs with seven RBIs to lead Austin High to the 15-7 win over East Limestone in high school baseball action Friday night.
Chris Sparkman and Chris Fail each finished with a home run and a double, while Chandler Busing added a home run. Fail got the pitching win, striking out four through five innings.
Cameron Ashmore had a double and two RBIs for the Indians.
West Morgan 23-7, Brewer 7-10: Trey Mathis hit a grand slam to lead the Rebels in Game 1, in addition to two doubles and six RBIs.
Daniel Armstrong added a double and a single in the win, while Grant Workman finished with a double and three RBIs.
Armstrong also got the pitching win, scattering three hits and striking out three in three innings. For Brewer, Jake Allen hit 3-for-3 with an RBI.
In Game 2, Austin Bentley homered, doubled and had four RBIs to turn it around for the Patriots.
Cody Frost finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Bentley also got the pitching win. Ethan Bolton led West Morgan, finishing 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
West Morgan (5-3) visits East Lawrence today for a doubleheader.
Hatton 10-11, Danville 2-10: Taylor Latham carried the Hornets in Game 1 of the doubleheader at home Thursday, striking out eight in seven innings, while allowing two hits.
Tyler Gooch hit a double with an RBI, and Ty Terry and Jarred Travnicek both had two hits.
In Game 2, both teams traded runs as the game was decided in eight innings. Gooch finished with two doubles, leading Hatton with four hits and three RBIs. Austin Waldrep followed a double on three hits.
Reed Gillispie, Terry and Taylor Latham each added a double in the contest. Gooch got the pitching win, allowing one hit.
Athens Bible 15-14, Elkmont 5-4: Blake Cundiff got the pitching win, striking out seven in four innings, while allowing five hits.
Douglas Fields hit a triple and two singles to lead the Class 1A No. 2 Trojans, while Jeb Hagewood finished with two singles, and Cundiff hit a triple and a single.
In Game 2, Athens Bible came from behind as Jacob Hagewood carried the Trojans with a triple, a double and two singles. Jeb Hagewood finished with a triple and a single, and Zach Ivey added a double and a single.
Sam Bobo got the pitching win, striking out two in four innings.
Athens Bible (14-0) visits Tanner on Monday for a doubleheader.
Softball
Priceville 11-12, Walker 9-15: Abby St. John got the pitching win in Game 1 of the doubleheader at home, striking out three through five innings.
Emily Williams hit a double on three hits and added three RBIs, and Alison Varner doubled and added a pair of RBIs. St. John finished with a triple and an RBI.
In Game 2, Amber Johnson finished 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, but it was not enough. St. John added two hits and two RBIs.
Hatton 2, Lawrence County 0: Hillary Carpenter led the Class 2A No. 1 Hornets in the Lawrence County Tournament opener, striking out one and allowing four hits through seven innings.
Hannah Harper and Mariah Cantrell each added two hits in the win.
Danya Snead drove in the first run in the first inning with a single, before Carey Grace Peebles drove in the second run with a double.
Carpenter had two hits, while Lexi Parker and Jami Hunter each added singles.
Hatton 6, East Lawrence 2: Peebles hit a solo homer in the second inning of the tournament game before adding a two-run home run in the seventh to push the Hornets to the win.
Snead and Carpenter each finished with two singles and two RBIs, while Peebles added four RBIs in the win.
Snead allowed one hit and one strikeout through four innings for the win. Hatton (11-1) will play in the final round of the Lawrence County tournament against the Red Devils at noon today.
Lawrence County 12, East Lawrence 2: Ashton Malcom got the pitching win in the Lawrence County tournament game, pushing the Red Devils to the tournament finals.
Malcom finished with a double and a single, and Kassidy Wise hit a double, single and added three RBIs.
Katie Burden added two singles and two RBIs.
West Morgan 5, Deshler 1: Sydney Sanders hit a double to lead the Rebels in the Hartselle Invitational game. Sanders also got the pitching win, striking out two and allowing five hits in five innings.
Lexie Green finished with two singles and two RBIs, while Briley Stephenson, Haley Keaty, Hannah Draper and Jada Terry all recorded singles.
Pisgah 1, West Morgan 0: Stephenson, Draper, Kayla Moore and Green all finished with singles in the Hartselle Invitational game. West Morgan (9-10-1) will play in the Hartselle tournament today.
Soccer
Huntsville girls 2, Decatur 0: Anna Claire Gann made 18 saves in the loss at home.
At the half, Huntsville led 1-0. The Red Raiders (1-8-1) visit Florence on Monday.
