Children’s books author Lou Brinegar visited with students at F.E. Burleson Elementary School Monday, Oct. 22. She is best known for her books “Brillo the Armydillo,” “How Granny Sacked the Quarterback,” “Granny Uncovers Miracles at Shriner Hospitals for Children,” and “Racecar Granny.” Brinegar is a former teacher and administrator from Waco, Texas. Above, Brinegar speaks to the fifth graders in the school’s library. She read “How Granny Sacked the Quarterback” and talked about what it takes to be a good writer.
