I think they need to pay a portion of the cost for man power used to locate him.

What man power????????? They call in the kids NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

BS Mary, sometimes things get too carried away! Perhaps an officer should have checked in on it, but a couple of phone calls should have been enough. People need to get a clue!

Gail.....I had brothers and we disagreeded but never post each other for sale causing alarm of the police,etc..... The point needs to be made that its not acceptable to use our public service officers to follow childish jokes.

oh lord.....all they had to do is call the phone #...ewww man hours lol

Time that could have been well spent eating donuts

i think it's funny. maybe they will get a reality tv show!

No harm done....actually funny.....and why was the police on Craigslist anyway????????

wish i had thought of it.....

Those man hours were already paid for regardless what the assignment was!

But those man hours could have been assigned to productive police work.

I am sure the sister had no idea it would lead to this, or at least didn't take time to consider that. Herman, based on earlier articles, it says someone else saw the posting and alerted police. I don't think a ton of time and especially not money or "resources" were spent on this, so to say she should have to pay a portion of the cost & manpower, is a tad ridiculous. Lesson learned, now everyone should just move on.

I don't know what is funniest, this story, or that Mary and her brothers disagreeded...

Things are so different than when I was a kid. I know the crime rates are higher and that abuse is reported more and taken more seriously among other things that have needed change for a very long time but give me a break. They got phone calls right off the bat telling them who he was and all they had to do was call the phone number listed. Some folks need to lighten up. My sister would have put me up for sale at birth had there been computers and she been old enough. Heck she would have even put me up for sale when we were teens but we didn't have computers. I, personally, think it is sort of funny and that there was a lesson learned. I am sure the girl never intended to cause such a ruckus. Give her a break! As far as man hours, payback, etc., I am sure that there wasn't much time spent on this for one, it solved itself for two and lastly they get paid regardless and I haven't heard of this particular case keeping them away from anything more serious. Live, laugh and love!

This is a different time. If you think these things should not be taken seriously, you are living in denial.

There are a lot of deranged people in the world, and their actions are justified by the video games and movies that glorify sadistic behavior.
