How are the comments that Dan Cathy made regarding gay marriage shocking? Didn't people figure out that he might have very religious views, considering that Chik fil A is closed on Sundays.

Expressed my support for Dan Cathy today by buying a lot of food at Chick-fil-A.

It always amazes me how people want to cram what they believe in down your throught.......Mr Cathy only gave his opinion of what he believes in and as shown by the crowd today he is not alone....I believe it as well....I spent my money there to on wednesday......He never said he wouldnt hire or refuse to serve any queers he only said what alot of other people believe and now they want to burn him for saying it...just as some other people said he never has hid what he believes in...I blame it on the media for blowing it out of proportion and making such a big deal out of it....

Why isn't Obama speaking out about the cities saying they do not want Chick-Fil-A in their cities/ Se was quick to speak out about New York not wanting to build a Masqet (Muslim Chruch) saying it was against the law to refuse any such measures. Chic-Fil-A is an american based company and he's sitting on his backside not saying a word. Does that tell you something?Does he really want jobs in the U.S?

disagreeing with you is not equal to hating you.

look at all the fat people eating there....

Conservatives = old fat angry white people.

Not at all Margaret, I'm not old or fat or angry. Nor am I a racist, a homophobe, a judge, or any other negative label that the liberals want to call people who don't agree with them. I believe in freedom of speech and I believe we americans have a right to choose how we want to live without having to cave in to someone elses views. If the owner of a business wants to live his life according to the bible, that is his choice. I believe if you want something then you should get off the couch and earn it. Sometimes people fall on hard times and I am willing to offer them a helping hand to get them back on their feet. I do not expect to support someone who doesn't even try. If you kill someone you should face the death penalty. Abortion is wrong because the baby doesn't get a choice in the matter. If you are adult enough to get pregnant, you should be adult enough to put it up for adoption if you don't want it or can't care for it.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.

Thank you Dan Kathy for expressing your view & standing up to Liberal hypocrates. You have every right to say your belief about marriage definition . May God Bless you & your Comapny. I am 100 percent behind your freedom of speech right.

oh Margaret is fat also..... she's just in denial. :)

Freedom of speech vs. freedom of religion.

I want to commend Lucy Berry and the Decatur Daily on this excellent article. I am so impressed with the fair and thorough coverage of this topic. A variety of viewpoints were expressed, and the people interviewed did a good job of explaining their beliefs. I have no idea what Ms. Berry's personal thoughts may be, and that is another indication that she is an excellent journalist.

This Friday there will be same sex "kiss-ins" at area Chick-fil-A's in support of gay and lesbian couples.

Come out and meet your local Democrat candidates. Paler will have autographed pictures of her campaigning for Bill Clinton. And, as a special treat you can share a wiener with Rex Cheatham and Glen Thompson.

It is not a matter of freedom of speech. He has every right to publicly express what a bigoted idiot he is, just as others have a right to call him out on his bigotry,

The idea that just because he doesn't "refuse to serve any queers" it doesn't affect the rights of others is misguided. His company financially supports hateful, bigoted organizations and lobbyists who actively fight equal rights and freedom for others.

Chick-Fil-A is a place of business and have the right to refuse service to whomever they choose. That being said, If I have kids in this restaurant and people start their ooogling and droolin on each other, I am going to be ill. Their is a time and place for this and a restaurant is not it. I don't care or who people choose to do, just keep it at home and I'll do the same!

Q your comment is wonderful.....

Bubba says this is USA and all people are equal and should suffer the same married life

Oh eat more BEEF......

Bubba

Q, get the facts straight. The definition of bigot is a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. He said what he stood for...he never said he didn't like anyone or anybody or tht he was intolerant. Get the facts straight.

I do have the facts straight. Denying equal rights to others *is* intolerance.

John, Q is correct........

Bubba says go Q, I loves it

bubba is right, everyone has the right to be miserable........

Q: exactly which hateful, bigoted organizations and lobbiest are being supported by CFA. i fiqure if yur gonna make the charge, you need to back it up..... just sayin,,,,

Shore is mess of fat folks wanting more fat and grease white meats chkin. Betcha then aint wanting no dark chkin meats.Betcha then folks has that high bleed pressure thats killls then people.

As our country separates itself from biblical facts, it continues to spiral downward. Just because something is made legal, doesn't make it right. The Bible does state that marriage is between a man and a woman. We were made in a special way so that a man and woman could reproduce and multiply. The Bible also says thou shalt not steal, murder, commit adultry etc....are we going to pass a law to make these legal next? Again, people can live any way they want because it is our freedom to do so, but making it legal doesn't make it right.

AJ - Some HAVE made these "legal". Folks claim thier money is being "stolen" by the government to fund programs. The death penalty is murder - no matter which side of the subject you're on, and men have taken more than one wife for years both in this country and in others, it's adultry - period. People are entitled to their opinion, we call it freedom of speech. But, to declare that you are right and I am wrong is beyond the scope of freedom of speech.

Let's all go down to Chick Fil A on Friday to watch the same sex marrie couple kiss and fondle each other in their way of protest. It should be another record setting profit day for CFA..
