That makes it a weak bill then.
It may not matter to some, but it will when a loved one is killed or maimed.
But, there is still the driving while distracted offense; I believe someone was recently charged with involuntary manslaughter for it.
the ban is not needed due to the distracted offense. just going to be turned into a primary offense so that they can get in your car.
I wish they would make it a primary offense. To fine someone $25 for texting is just a joke! It will stop no one from doing it. If they make it a primary offense, meaning they will have to pay a whopping court fee, texters might, just might, think twice about sending those little words that could wait. Typing while driving, whether it be a text, surfing the net, whatever, is just PLAIN STUPID! There are already enough distractions for most drivers. Why allow people to have one more? Just pass the law that says you have to have a wireless ear piece to use a cell phone in a moving vehicle.
