Cadet quits West Point due to religious troubles

Put this kid in a foxhole and he will learn, never been an atheist there.

he quit cause he couldn't cut it and is using this as an excuse.

I think he just wants to find an excuse for why he couldn't cut it.

What an idiot. Six months from graduation and he walks...for whatever reason it's the stupidest thing he could do. All that time is now wasted since he has no degree. Besides, it's not like he didin't know what the environment was like going. I do not understand why people join/attend organizations that conflict with their personal beliefs. He will forever be considered a quitter.

And please don't put him in a foxhole along with the guys who know how to see something through to the end. He would just compromise their safety with an official protest of some perceived personal grievance. Let him go....good riddance!
