Athens has a “great” fire department about 10 minutes away....Really, a whole 10 minutes? This is a ridicilous statement from a state rep.. This is a "no brainer" Dan Williams, Decatur is already in Limestone County.
School board member said "that ain't good."
Seems Ive heard fire doubles in size every minute burning, so lets do the math. Fire department needs to be closer than 10 minutes. Doesnt Decatur Fire have a station on highway 20? Seems that would be quicker. I think now that we have Don Kyle, maybe he will bring the Sweetwater project back. They can place a staion there.
The most important thing is the safety of the students and employees at the college. I think the largest 2-year college in the state should have the best police and fire protection that is available.
