You would think that after serving on the City Council for 17 years, Billy Jackson would improve and clean up his District. What a shame and waste of time.

All this talk on ethics, was it ethical for Reeves to want to allocate this money to the foundation since his wife was over it? Was it ethical that Anders boy was hired at Decatur Utilities within a year of Anders being elected the first time and he was liaison to D.U. ( I know he just gave it up but what's done is done). Was it ethical for Billy to be liaison to the fire dept. all those years while he had family employed there and every time the council voted a pay raise for city services he didn't abstain? Things that make you go, hmmmmmmm.

I think it is unethical to not fulfill a philanthropic obligation. The money is going to the foundation not Mrs. Reeves. If the city committed they should follow through with their commitment. If they do not, their word or commitment in the future is mud. Mr. Reeves did not participate in the vote when the city made the commitment. The Foundation is legally obligated to give the funds raised to support the school system, Ed Nichols is not the leader of the Foundation and has no business hindering fundraising efforts to benefit the school system. The advantage of having a separate Foundation to support the school system is that there is a board of community volunteers who can look objectively at holes in the school system that need funding, instead of one person, Ed Nichols, deciding where every penny goes. As great of a leader that I think Ed Nichols is, everyone is susceptible to biasness towards one program over another. The Foundation ensures that all programs, no matter how small they are, have another avenue to seek support.

good job Charles and Billy.

have the attitudes become so bad up there that they can't do what is right if Billy Jackson is the one that brings it up? Does it have to be some else's idea to matter?

Yes.......!

Well then how slow on the uptake is KKirby that it took him 9 months to figure out what Jackson was talking about?

They say he wasn't there when it happened.

Let's see, Tiff..... when you were you told about Reeves' unethical actions when this originally happened, what was it you said? Oh, yeah, you didn't want to bring it up in a story so you didn't make the Foundation look bad? I guess it's all in a day's work for the PR Girl / Vanilla "Journalist". I'm sure Crooked Anders wanted to give more so he could help to pay back his pal Greggie for all the votes that helped him financially? Lyin Gary sure does play the martyr well. He's the salt of the Council.
