If you really want to impress me~~Don't take any money at all. Who are you impressing by saying you will take 1/2 of $96,000. $48,000 is more than most make in Morgan County including the ones who do the physical work for the county. Take no money until unemployment is 6% and 94% of people in Morgan County are making 1/2 of your anual salary.
I am shocked that they pay commissioners $96,000 a year but they put a freeze on hiring, voted down pay raises for county employees, raised the price of benefits package and yet the commissioners are bringing in almost 6 figures a year. Something is seriously wrong with this whole picture. Sounds like they need to slim back the commissioners pay to 1/2 and give the ones doing the physical labor a pay raise~~
It sounds to me that this article is a gimmick instigated by a bitter loser trying to seek revenge on a fair and square campaign that hurt their ego. Morgan County needs hard working positive leadership that doesn't embarrass the residents or the county employees.
If we elect a person to do a job and then expect him to work for nothing then we will get what we pay for....nothing.
I wonder if someone who can afford to serve without a salary understands what a working person living from pay check to pay check faces.
What does a rich man want?
Power that money can't buy.
Mr.New is a breath of fresh air and we need someone like him to clean up the mess at the Courthouse! The Republican Party has a monopoly or politburo with total control! We need to give someone like Clay New who is obviously committed to the people a chance to bring new ideas to the Courthouse!Mr. New is qualified and a proven successful businessman!!
