Two Limestone County high school football programs will have new head coaches next season.
According to an email from Clements High principal Keith Hairrell, the school accepted a letter of resignation Thursday from Colts football coach Michael Brown. Ardmore coach Shannon Brown submitted his resignation after the season to accept an administrative position in Madison County.
Michael Brown served as Clements’ head football coach for three seasons, compiling a 3-27 record, including 1-9 this season Hairrell said the opening has not been discussed with Limestone County superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk, and school administrators do not have a timetable for filling the position.
Shannon Brown spent the past four seasons at Ardmore, guiding the Tigers to a 13-27 record. Ardmore finished this season with a 5-5 record and barely missed the Class 4A playoffs. School officials at Ardmore could not be reached for comment.
