DHCA cruises past Addison

Jacob Crews scored a season-high 27 points and recorded four steals, leading 10th-ranked Decatur Heritage past Addison 71-40 Monday night for a Class 1A, Area 14 win.

Decatur Heritage (7-3, 3-0 in Area 14) pulled away early, opening the game with a 15-3 run before taking a 27-point cushion into halftime.

The Eagles extended their winning streak to six games.

Nathan Lee tossed in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Decatur Heritage, while Tyde Coffey added 10 points and six rebounds. Lee Godwin finished with nine points for Decatur Heritage, which hosts Vinemont on Friday.

Kaleb Estill led Addison with 16 points and Zack Anders added 12.

Girls basketball

Decatur Heritage 46, Addison 20: Maddie Vinton finished with 14 points and six rebounds to lead Decatur Heritage to a Class 1A, Area 14 win.

Decatur Heritage (8-4, 2-1 in Area 14) raced out to a commanding lead, carrying a 22-7 cushion into halftime.

Laura Mae Sivley had seven points and seven rebounds for Decatur Heritage, while Gabriell Jeffreys added six points.

Lauren Cutcher led Addison with seven points.
