Residents can help stray dogs and cats find new homes more easily by purchasing items at a benefit yard sale Saturday.
Decatur Animal Services will host a yard sale from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the Beltline Road Southwest shelter. All money raised by the sale of donated items will reduce adoption fees.
In spite of rain last weekend, the animal shelter raised more than $1,800, which reduced adoption fees for 23 animals.

I thought an entity in Decatur could only have two yard sales a year? Is city services not included in this law?
I doubt it. Usually, rules don't apply to government. Keep in mind, however, that there are a lot of volunteers doing lots of things (including raising money) that ordinarily would require taxpayer dollars. Now, if you have an idea for a fund raiser, and are willing to help, they will be glad to accept your help.
I will be there making a cash donation in momary of my pets who passe away.
