Pairs Abby Tubbs and Ginny Light and Avery Bowman and April Little posted wins in doubles to put Decatur Heritage ahead early en route to a 6-1 win over Athens Bible School in high school tennis action Tuesday.

Tubbs, Light, Bowman and Little also took wins in singles. Emme Slaton and Merrell Bowman both had tied sets on courts one and two before the game was ended early due to rain.

Decatur Heritage (2-0) visits Whitesburg on Thursday.

Decatur Heritage boys 7, Hazel Green 2: Teams of Ryan Runager and Austin Markham, Brent King and Josh Burgreen and Sam Miller and Garrett Gladish opened with wins in doubles.

Burgreen, Markham, Miller and Adam Runager each posted wins in singles to push Decatur Heritage to a season record of 3-0.

The Eagles host Westminster Christian Academy on Monday.

James Clemens 3, Decatur 2: Carlos Carbajal and Francisco Tirado each had goals in the loss for the Red Raiders.
