They are going to be happy because the get a Democrat either way. Don Stanford was the only Republican running. Tried to tell you people that.

Stanford was a joke though.

again, why does it always involve 'race' when billy jacksons name is involved?

Who?

Say it more times so more people know it! Billy Jackson endorses Carl Cole. That ought to give voters in district #'s 2,3,4, & 5 a real warm & fuzzy feeling! Bwaaah

Billy Jackson opposed the idea of city manager, and that is the main issue Carl Cole has run on. Odd that Billy Jackson would support diluting the influence of his district if it had to be blended with another one to fit Alabama law and meet federal guidelines.

Last weekend, Billy Jackson endorsed Cole. Now the ADC endorses in a 9 to 8 split decision which is very interesting. In non-partisan city government elections party affiliation should not matter. However, up to now it should be known by all that Carl Cole seems to be concealing his historically very progressive Democrat background which would make one believe he would follow a progressive liberal tax, spend and tax some more agenda. He previously ran as the Democrat opponent for Alabama’s U.S. 4th District seat against Congressman Aderholdt. As a lawyer there is no evidence of executive or financial experience. No doubt he is a very nice fellow and probably very smart too. However, in 2008 those were believed to be the attributes of then Billy Jackson backed Don Stanford. As we saw there, those qualities are not a substitute for educationally qualified seasoned experience.

On the other hand, Don Kyle offers proven in depth business, management, banking, financial planning, negotiating and leadership skills. And unlike Mr. Cole, Don Kyle already has established contacts and relationships with business leaders, economic development entities and organizations as well as other area and state government leaders. To refresh our memory from four years ago, here is a link to an April 2008 Decatur Daily article outlining Mr. Kyle’s accomplishments during his first term in office [cut and paste it into your browser]:

The real question is; why is Billy Jackson aligning with Carl Cole and what will that give us? Another is, do we need to buy into another “hope” scenario? No, we need to cast our vote for the previously proven leader, Don Kyle?

Cole is a business and tax attorney Tracy. The kind that accountants like don Kyle call when they get stumped. Cole has the endorsements of the Republican Party state chairman that worked with aderholt. Maybe he's getting these endorsements because people know Kyle can't work with anyone. Kyle was a failure. Most remember it. And if the vote had gone the other way at ADC you'd be spinning this differently wouldn't you Tracy. Lets not forget that Kyle and council stooge Kirby both failed to rescind the penny sales tax and pushed through higher utilities taxes and also cost our schools money with incentives. Kyle and the charlie Tuna are both frauds.

Ray Metzger was on the council at the time of the alleged "recind the tax" wave. Ray did motion to recing the tax. Niether Billy, Ronny, nor David seconded the motion. Aren't 2 of those 3 ones who supported Busbey? They didn't second the motion because they knew balancing the budget was over their head. They had their chance, they voted for the tax under Fowler's adminstration. NEVER, NEVER once did they ever vote against the sales tax increase. So, let's not attempt to confuse anyone!

Should have said "rescind" above - sorry.

How many times has Charlie the tuna made a motion to remove the penny tax?

who will the local white caucus be supporting? Oh yeah, they don't exist because that would be racist.
