Elkmont 24, Clements 8:

Elkmont scored two early touchdowns and held Clements scoreless until the fourth quarter to post the Class 3A, Region 8 win.

Dustin Ward gave Elkmont the lead with a 15-yard run and a 32-yard pass from Bryant Wells to Rhett Bailey gave the Red Devils a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.

Elkmont added to the lead with an 80-yard kickoff return by Josh Ferrazas to open the second half. Alex Hernandez made it 24-0 with a 38-yard field goal later in the third quarter.

Clements scored on Timmy Marsh’s 10-yard run and a Marsh-to-Jermaine Smith 2-point conversion pass with 3:29 to play.

Ward finished wit 7.5 tackles, including two sacks.
