If the evidence is there for discrimination, and according to this article it is, give Mrs./Ms. Mason her day in court.
Compare her work records against the Administrators. Both may need to go.
Ok...so they're saying she couldn't do her job? Can anyone out at the commission office do their job??? NO...it's apparent! Maybe the Commissioners need to fire all the employess and start over, cause this bunch is a joke.
Mose Jones should be first to go and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin. He is the biggest racist of the bunch. f he ran for office in any other part of the county he would loose. White folks in his district don't stand a chance of getting anything done. Ask the white folks that live between Hillsboro and Trinity.
If the girl can't do the job get one of us that can in there. If the color of her skin is the problem they have, then they shouldn't have gotten her hopes up to start with. Jobs are too sacred these days.
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." Abraham Lincoln
Seems to me there need to be some character checks in the whole building.
Peggy King should not be evaluating anyones job performance. The commission office is a complete failure and now they are all off to Washington D.C. at the tax payers expense what a joke and waste of time and taxpayer money.
Stay home and save the taxpayers money you have got to come up with $22,000.00 to pay the back taxes because of screw-ups at the commission office.
"Mason is asking for judgment against the commission for lost wages and benefits, plus interest, future wages and benefits, compensatory damages, costs of litigation and attorney’s fees. She is demanding a trial by jury on all claims."
I hope she gets her trial by jury for this claim!!! I don't care if she is white, black, red or yellow, it is insane to sue the commission (i.e. taxpayers) during this time of recession. If I were the judge, I would grant her a trial by jury (of her peers) and demand the trial be held in Lawrence County. Let's see how our taxpayers decide. If they are smart, they will realize that by awarding her money, they are only costing themselves.
And another thing, how can you sue for future wages and benefits? You have no idea whether you will be employeed by a company/entity in the future! Any one of us could be laid off, let go permanently, or die tomorrow.
She was terminated during the 90 probation period. End of story, she is done. Doesn't matter if she was the best clerk to ever walk the earth. Probation is just that.
it will not go to trial, the commission will settle.
No she wasn't terminated during 90 day probation. 90 days would have been October 18. That is why she was evaluated on October 17th. Look at her hiring date and count it up, they did not terminate her within her 90 days. That is the only reason she can file the suit.
right or wrong dont matter, its which ever shyster can lie the most and get the people to believe him or her. rumor has it that jessie, and al are planing to be there, with the nationl networks.....if that happens, it will be funny to watch the rats run from the ship. now thats a trial i wouldnt miss.......
