Watch potters form clay, blacksmiths shape metal and bee keepers collect honey at the second annual Ully Fest. The all-day event hosted by UG White Mercantile in Athens will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival will feature bluegrass music, pumpkin carving, a Red Ryder BB gun challenge and a hay ride.
“We’ve been here 95 years and want to celebrate this season,” said co-owner Derrick Young.
Along with potters, blacksmiths and honey collectors, pen makers, letter press operators and Frazier Douglass, author of “Lightweight Camping for Motorcycle Travel,” will offer demonstrations.
There will also be vintage cars and bicycles on display.
All of the events are free, except the cost of the pumpkin. Carvers should bring their own tools. UG White Mercantile will hand out first, second and honorable mention prizes for the winning adult and children carvers.
