I'd like to see a thourough investigation on this by the FBI. Smells fishy from what i read on another website.
Based on his mugshot alone he appears to be a very coorporative person.
We will see a complete investigation from the ABI. Sounds to me like we have an officer of the law that is lucky to be alive today. I've read nothing on any of the other local news sites that sounds fishy other than Mr. Lowes behavior.
What sells fishy northwest resident ?
Heard all of it on the scanner! Although I'm still very angry over the shooting of innocent animals, I heard the fear in the officers voice when he called in the fact that the suspect was down and shot in the stomach which I don't believe they have posted that info yet on where he was shot. The officer was in fear for his life, you would be too if you were knocked off your feet and thought someone might reach your rifle beofre you!
Summer Place Apartments is a drug haven with people living on section 8 mostly. But people who can't get there are hard working people
Yes they give the drug thugs free housing and free food and the hard working people who really need it get nothing. This complex is another example of what the city did to this town when they closed Stone Gate. They took all the trouble making trash and druggies and scattered them all over Decatur. Look what a rise in the crime rate in all areas it has created. And the city of decatur housing could care less they don,t have to live around them. It is an awful shame the way the town ahs been run down by this trash scattered all over.
You know this is a prime example of disrespect for the Law. If he had followed instructions and done what he should have with respect for the law officer he would not have gotten shot. Plain and simple guarantee the Officer followed proper procedure and was in fear for his life. They are trained and retrained in this type situation. Think of what the man could have done if he had taken control of the rifle
That fishy smell is most likely coming from the river Northwest Resident.
@Northwest that smell you smell is your upper lip! The officer was attacked plain and simple. Keep in mind officers were called there twice because others feared this mans actions.
NW resident...You were not there, he attacked the officer! You would be SILENT if the offender was white.....the truth is the truth and you opened that door.
Where any pets involved? Would a city manager make a difference?
Seriously, it is a shame when anyone loses their life - regardless of who was at fault.,
Is this guy's first name Mister?
this is just NW Resident playing the "race card".
.
The pets remark was in regards to an incident I think on Danville Rd Apartments where an officer shot a dog because it barked at him and he felt threatened. He also shot into a residence. (because he couldn't hit a dog 5-10 feet away from him). as far as I know, he wasn't disciplined for his wreckless shooting.
Tony, You Can;t Judge A Person By Their Looks, How Can You Say That?
I'm playing the race card??? Where does the article describe the officer's race? You people jump to conclusions too much!
Linda . . . . how can I say that?? Like this . . . "Based on his mugshot alone he appears to be a very coorporative person."
You obviously did not recognize my obvious sarcasim.
DPD... shoot first. Guess we only get the police side of the story now, huh? Just like tasing an old man... the DPD at it's best. To Protect and Serve... right. How about, To Opress and Harrass.
Sounds like the officer was getting that ass whooped, so he shot the man....now I don't blame the officer but let's call it like it is. He was getting his butt beat and he was scared so he shot the drunk man not knowing what the drunk would do with the rifle...I know a couple of smart ass Decatur City Officers that need a good ole ass whooping for that big bad attitude they carry around just because they wear a badge. Put them on a regular job and you couldn't squeeze a smart remark out of their mouth....I'm not upholding for the guy, cause he did do wrong and the officer was scared and scared people are the last ones that need to carry a weapon...."The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated in the emergency room at Decatur General Hospital."
My question is why did the office take his rifle in when he had a side arm already.
Mister Bobby Lowe had a rifle, cop try to take it away, cop knocked down to the ground, Mister Bobby Lowe still had rifle in his hands, cop feared for his life, shot and killed Mister Bobby Lowe. By the way did I mention that Mr. Lowe was intoxicated.
Rule #1 Always double tap.
@John . . . . LOL. Nice!!
Sounds like the officer was SLOW to react. He should have shot him when he charged him instead of getting knocked down, loosing his rifle and risking getting killed.
Everyone knows Summer place is drug city. Stone gate left overs. Northwest resident you know it too.
I left a word out. Drug and thug city.
why did the cop pull out his rifle????? A rifle at an apartment house?? Really...
Bubba sees something not right here
We don't shoot enough of them! Good job DPD! Guess what, he won't cost us any money in the clink! I bet folks will think twice before they charge another police officer with a gun!
We don't shoot enough of them! Good job DPD... @ Robert.....that's cause you nor DPD have the right to shoot!!!! You are crazy! Guess when DPD pulls a gun on you and shoots then you will think differently..........You must be an employee of the city or have a relative that is.....
Yes its a shame when there is groups of thirty or forty of them raising all manner of hell and acting like savage morons that they can not just sweep the crowd with multiple rounds. That would definitely cool down some of the problems we have growing daily in this town. When there is more than one they get arrogant and cocky. Think of what a mess this would have been if there had been 10 or 15 drunk men in a group. They get real brave in groups and smart a-s--ed. Did save the taxpayers a lot of money. Now we do not have to feed , house and cloth and provide medical care and lawyers for him on the tax payers dime. Need more of them to act like this thin out the crowds and problems. Jail does not affect them at all they think of it like a right of passage like some think of Baptism.
Gee Herman, why don't you just approach those officers and tell them what you think big man. It is like this people, the officer was not scared, he was fighting. When you are stupid enough, and drunk enough, and crazy enough to attack a police officer and try to take one of his weapons, guess what will ususally happen? Do you nay sayers and cop haters think that the deceased was going to play ring around the rosey with the officer if he had gotten the gun? No, he was going to kill the officer. All he had to do was comply with the officers command, he CHOSE to fight and disarm the officer....his choice, he was stupid, he was drunk and he was crazy, and now because of all of that he is dead. To the rest of you speculators, you were not there, trade in your crystal balls for new ones, yours ain't working.
Herman, I have no affiliation with the city nor do my relatives. I just suffer from an old ailment called common sense - ever heard of it? If a cop pulls a gun on me I will have done something to deserve it! If not, my hands will be in the air and I will do what I'm instructed to do until such time the gun is put away or holstered. Why on God's green earth do you charge an officer with a weapon leveled at you? He waited too long too long to shoot in my opinion. What is wrong with you idiots? Thinking you can negotiate or much less charge and wrestle with cop in these situations. If he has drawn a weapon, he thinks his life is in danger. This in NOT the time to spout off about your rights or being disrespected - just my opinion.
when exactly is the time to express your rights????????
I am assuming Herman is not Pro 2nd Ammendment.
Sounds like there is one less woman abuser on the streets. Fortunately he can no longer harm anyone and his girlfriend can sleep better.
Tammy, you "express you rights" in court, not on the street.
