The final two men who escaped from the Lauderdale County Detention Center on Saturday night are in custody in Evergreen, which is in Conecuh County in the extreme southern part of the state, officials said.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Ronnie Willis said his office was notified just before 7 tonight that Ricky Dewayne Lawson, 28, of Lexington, and Robert Lee Brown, 20, of Sheffield, had been taken into custody by the Evergreen Police Department.
Lawson, Brown, Damien Lee Nix, 23, of Russellville, and Wesley Lee Gibson, 27, of Florence, are accused of climbing through an air-conditioning duct to the roof of the detention center and escaping through the fence late Saturday night, officials said.
Nix was arrested just after 10 p.m. Sunday at a residence on East Limestone Street in Florence. Gibson was arrested Tuesday morning in Santa Rosa County, Fla., not too far from where Evergreen is located, where he was caught breaking into a church, officials said.
