FLORENCE — Police say a Florence man is in jail and charged in connection with a recent home invasion and burglary involving a college student and the burglary at another apartment complex.
Mitchell Blake Terry, 31, 1413 Lauderdale 166, Florence, is charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree theft of property, third-degree theft of property, fraudulent use of a credit card and three counts of second-degree burglary, Florence Police Chief Ron Tyler said this afternoon.
Tyler said Terry is charged in connection with the home invasion/burglary of an apartment unit in Summit Ridge Apartments that was reported Sept. 17, and a burglary of a residence at Heathrow Apartments that was reported Sept. 21.
Tyler said investigators working the burglaries are confident the evidence is solid in the case.
“I hope this community understands our police officers take a great deal of pride in keeping this community safe,” Tyler said. “As a result, many of them have spent long hours trying to solve this case. Their efforts led to this arrest.”
