CULLMAN (AP) — Former Alabama first lady Jamelle Folsom of Cullman has died.
Family friend Peck Fox said Folsom died Friday. She had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Folsom's late husband, James E. "Big Jim" Folsom, served two terms as governor and their son, Jim Folsom Jr., also served as governor and lieutenant governor.
Visitation is from 1-4 Sunday at Moss Funeral Home in Cullman. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Cullman, followed by burial at Cullman City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to the Alabama Autism Society or the Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Cullman.

Very sweet lady.
She was a link back to a very colorful time in Alabama Politics, which of late is light on the color and heavy on the contentiousness.
