Maybe the public should be asking why the State Board of Education seems determined to make dropping out a better alternative for a third of the students is many systems. High school has been turned into College Light, and many kids are not college bound. They need a basic education including household finance. They do not need calculus or Algebra II, and should not be required to take college prep courses and college prep tests in order to graduate from high school.
