the grandfather was Wayne Parker. He shot his grandson for wanting to get some clothes to wear to school...He and his wife Shirley Parker are poor excuses for grandparents. Since this child's mother died about 2 yrs. ago. Wayne Parker told police he aimed for the child, which is 17 yrs. old, chest! He should be charged with attempted murder!
Wish this young man had somewhere else to go before things get worse. Next time, it might just be to late. Is there not any more family members willing to step up and do whats right?
The father is not in these children's life, so he doesn't have anyone on his father's side. His mother has a sister but she's hooked on pills. These were his mother's parents. The boy that was shot told the police at the hospital he doesn't have anyone except his brother 18 yrs. old, and his sister that is 15 yrs. old. No adult was present to sign the consent form for surgery. He told the police at the hospital, he just wanted to finish high school so he could join the service and take care of his sister.
When the grandfather, Wayne Parker, shot him, the grandmother, Shirley Parker stood over him and said, "guess you'll be careful what you ask for next time big boy!" Cause when the boy saw his grandfather pointing the gun at him, the boy said, "Really poppa? You gonna shoot me? Really? Go ahead Poppa shoot me!".....
Both Shirley and Wayne worked at Saginaw. Shirley was the President of the Union! This is the type people she and Wayne are....She married Wayne, divorced him, married his brother, then divorced the brother, then married Wayne again. Such upstanding citizens!!!!!! I hate these children are in the care of these scums of Decatur.
I Bet When The Truth Is Found Out, It Was Because The 17 Year Old Didn;t Want To MIND His GRANDPARENT,,,,Kids Now Days Don;t Want To Listen,, They Just WANT To Have THEIR OWN WAY,,,,They Don;t Want To Be TOLD ANYTHING,,, They Think That They KNOW EVERYTHING
@ Linda...No sweetie, it wasn't because the 17 yr. old didn't want to listen!!!!! It's because these sorry excuse for grandparents don't want to be grandparents! This child doesn't bother anyone and has never been in trouble. He makes A's and B's in school. So this just goes to show you have no idea of what the real situation is! THAT IS THE TRUTH.. sO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT ON IT...
Herman, It's obvious you know this family and its a shame it has come to this. Sad really! I truly hope this young man can get through school and follow his dreams. I'm anxious to here the grandparent / Police / DD side of this story. It seems that in to many of these situations that the truth is not fully revealed..... As Paul Harvey used to say- The rest of the story! Good Gay!
Good Day!
@Linda...regardless of the situation you don't shoot a child. Seriously?? Your defending this?
Eloise, NO, I Am NOT Defending This,,,What The Grandparent Did WAS WRONG, It Is NOT RIGHT To Shoot ANYONE,,,,What I Am Saying That Kids Nowdays Don't Want To Listen To NOBODY,,,,They Think That They Are ALWAYS Right,,,They DON"T WANT To Be CORRECTED By ANYONE,,,They WANT To DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT To DO,,,That Is NOT The Case With Every Young Person,,, But With A LOT Of Them
Doesn't a friend or neighbor care enough to take him in till he finishes school . Just someone who knows him and cares to see him reach his goal. Graduate.
@ Carol....I don't know. A friend of the children's mother would like to take them in, but it would be hard on her and her husband financially. I just hate to see children trying to make it in this world and no one cares for them. They were in foster care for a while until their mom was able to get straight. She only had them back a couple of months, when she had a massive heart attack and died. Now, they have nobody! These kids have been let down their entire life by both parents, the grandparents...these children have been called names, told they were stupid, told they were nerds and would never have any friends...what grandparent says that to their grandchild? What grandfather shoots his grandson? It is really a pitiful situation. Those children need serious counseling. Bless their poor hearts! Hopefully, DHR will be able to find a good foster home for them.
I just wish Linda would learn to punctuate. And spell. And use the proper capitalization.
Teresa ,I WISHED , I Could,, But When You Get OLD, Like I Am,,Things Change,,I Can't Even Type,,,I Just Have To Pick Out The Letters,,,When You Get OLD Like I Am, You Will See What I Am Talking About,,,Things ARE DIFFERENT
Herman , since you know these people so well then why haven"t you already got that boy out of there?
I have 2 children of my own. I am not related to these children, although , I did know their mother. This isn't a snatch and grab situation. I can't raise these children. But surely there is someone that may not have children that can afford to take these children into their home. Hopefully, success is in these children's future cause they've already been through HELL.....
LINDA N - I'm old too. If there is something that I'm no longer able to do properly, I just don't do it. It takes time and effort to sometimes use the caps lock, sometimes use shift and wear out the comma key. I will say that your comment is quite noticable compared to others though. It is much easier to type in all lower case or even all caps. You may want to try it so you don't wear yourself out.
S, I couldn't agree more. And Linda, age has nothing to do with hitting a comma key 30 times in a sentence. I'll even give you the capitalization issue, but for the love of God, lay off the comma key!
Teresa, When Your Hand Shakes All The Time And You Can't Hardly Hold A Cup Of Coffee, This Is What Happens To You, You Don't Want To Quit And Give Up , You Just Keep Trying To Do Things That You Used To Do, And Love To Do And Want To Do
These kids are 15 and 17 they can take care of themselves if they had "normal" people in their lives. Besides with the mother deceased they get checks every month which would help with whatever expensives that they had. People just prefer to talk about what should be done and not do it. That is the problem all the way around. I would take them in myself. You say there good kids that need a chance.
Yeah, Darren they are good kids. I'm not sure about the money side of it (as far as the children getting checks). That's all they need is someone that is normal and living a normal life. You'r a good person.
