Hartselle's Quanesha Burks beat her own record prelim time of 7.75 seconds with a Class 5A record 7.73 in the 60-meter dash finals in the AHSAA Indoor Track Championship in Birmingham on Saturday.
She also totaled 38 feet, 6.5 inches in the triple jump to set a 5A record, eclipsing the previous record of 36-05.50 set by St. Paul's Lacey Dent last year. Burks also finished first in the long jump, 18-01.00.
Madison Academy 67, Tanner 44: Josh Langford poured in 29 points, leading Madison Academy past Class 2A No. 1 Tanner (19-4).
Madison Academy outscored Tanner 13-4 in the fourth quarter, handing the Rattlers their second straight loss.
Jace Haggermaker led Tanner with 14 points and Greg Maclin added eight. The Rattlers close out the regular season Tuesday at East Limestone.
