Ed's just playing his role in the "Good Ol'Boy Network". Thought he would do better, but hey, two steps forward, one step back. He's good, just not what DCS needs to take it to the next level. Wastings?? Seriously? For a whole year? Ed & the Board must share one brain cell and struggled to just to make the feeble decisions thus far. #SoSad

P.S.- Poor Duke, she just can't step out of her box and think for herself. #StillSoSad

Thought he retired!!!!! Is that double dipping??

I was glad to see he had retired. I personally had issues with him as a student at Decatur High School years ago. Hastings was a closed minded, letter of the law type guy years ago. That type of individual does not belong presiding over High School kids. Perhaps, his approach has changed over the years? I doubt it. If you have kids at Brookhaven, good luck!

I'm with KENNETH. If he is drawing retirement and getting paid to be a principal, that is double dipping.

Kenneth and Tony - There are provisions for the employment of retired individuals just as there are provisions for folks to earn wages while they are receiving Social Security. If you truly believe that he could draw full retirement AND full principal's pay simultaneously, you're drinking the same government conspiracy kool-aid as some other commenters. Rest assured that if it were to happen, you wouldn't be able to get to the post office for the flood of retired teachers at the District Office demanding the same deal.
