Rachel Hutto will represent Lawrence County at the state Distinguished Young Woman program in January.
Hutto, the daughter of Randy and Darlene Hutto, is a senior at East Lawrence High School.
Four high school seniors competed for the title earlier this month at Lawrence County High School. Judges rated the contestants on interview, fitness, scholastic, presence and composure and talent. For talent, Hutto performed a dance and tumbling routine to "What a Feeling" by the Global Deejays.
Along with Hutto, local representatives participating in the state program are Distinguished Young Woman of Morgan County Mariana Threadgill and Distinguished Young Woman of Limestone County Danielle Cassady.
