The owners should NOT be allowed to reclaim their dogs! They are animal abusers & criminals! I've a good mind to send this to PETA now so they can get involved and stir up some local trouble for the judge residing over this decision. I wouldn't want them on my tail.

Well, Randy, if you adopted a few of the animals that need homes as I have, then more would have homes and wouldn't be euthanized. Then if you spay or neuter those animals like you should, even better. Don't get me started big fellow! I live where people think pets are disposable, replaceable, can fend for themselves. I personally have spayed or neutered over 30 cats that live in my neighborhood this year alone because their owners didn't bother or care. I also feed about 5 of them daily even though they have owners and a home. Pets should be kept inside, treated as family members. The rewards are are 100 fold so put your money where your mouth is and get involved big guy!

"Let's call PETA," makes about as much sense as crying "Let's call Al- quaeda" to solve our litter problem. If the two had a more related agenda then I'd be a monkey's uncle, and obviously I'm not. IF PETA were truly about what they claim to be, I'd be one of the first to support their cause, yet I do not follow blindly. They are about the publicity and the money. For a non- profit their leaders are (very literally) living high on the hog. And, for a bunch of "animal lovers" I have never seen such a bunch of ignorant folks, when it comes to animals. I am constantly amazed at the foolishness these folks spew in the name of animal "rights."

Oh, I am laughing my tail off here. First of all, do you people actually have REAL, HUMAN children? If not, then okay, your comments make sense. If you do, then you seriously need medical attention. I know that people love their pets and that is fine. I realize that some people are VERY attached to their pets and.....I can even sort of understand that. But, to claim that your pet is a family member or your child is COMPLETELY ABSURD! I have children. If any of my kids were to die, I would not want to go own with my life, much less get out of the bed each day. Do people honestly feel that way about a dog, cat, gerbil, fish, etc? If so, WAKE UP AND FACE REALITY!!! My children use a toilet or a diaper, pets use the floor or a box. My children eventually learn to talk, walk, take care of themselves, prosper (hopefully) and live on their own. Pets do not! I know people who have spent thousands on their pets having surgeries or such. SERIOUSLY??? They are an animal. God gave them fur so that they can live outside. They are not made to be inside a home! It ALWAYS amazes me when a person claims they love their pets just like a child. Do you really? Would you lay down your life for a dog? I would lay down my life for my child. Would you spend $500 for your dog a toy? You probably would for a child. Get real people. God didn't put them here for you to love them like your children. They are here for companionship. They are here for entertainment. Now, please don't misunderstand me. I am certainly against animal cruelty. I think that anyone hosting or attending dog/cock/cat/any animal fights should be punished. But hey, let the punishment fit the crime. Say you are drinking and you get behind the wheel of a car and hit a cat and kill it. Should you serve years of prison time for that? HECK NO!!! But, if you kill a person, yes you should. I see the difference, but to all of you dog and cat lovers, do you feel that deer hunters and fishermen should be punished for their hobby? Should they do jail time for catching a fish? If so, then Jesus should have been in jail!!! He was a fisherman. Read your Bible. PETA is about the most useless organization there is. I'm in no way a fan of dog fighting, but I think likening animals to humans is nuts. Yes, yes, I think the guys fighting the dogs are jerks, but where do we draw the line in animal laws? Will I be arrested for killing mice on a trap or poisoning the gophers in my yard? Will it be legal to eat meat, they are after all animals?

You want to know what the word "ironic" means? That would be if the Justin Fuqua needed ( if he is indeed guilty, or why would he rub) some search dogs to find him out in the cold,lonely woods after what he's allegedly done.) His dogs have no doubt known that feeling. Or God forbid one of his loved ones,like a small child needs a dogs "super,super sensitive nose to help in the search. Dogs are the first in buildings when cops don't know if the perp is armed,were some of the first to hit ground zero and save lives,save thousands by sniffing out bombs and drugs,make life for older or even younger lonely people livable,puts a smile on kids faces in hospitals and folks in nursing homes (cats too), help the handicapped lead some sort of normal life,and it goes on and on. They never lay down and say, "Heck, I'm not going in that building with those wacko's". "You do it". And Rot's and Doby's get a bad,bad rap,because its been proven if you raise them right,they are no meaner than any other breed. I've heard of people feeding them gunpowder to make them mean. Blame the owners when you hear of a watchdog attack a kid, because it should NEVER happen. That's what they make chains and fences for. And BIG SIGNS. Without dogs, it'd be a pretty sad place. They don't judge,they just love. And seek love. I say make it a felony, if it isn't, and put some "teeth" into existing cruelty laws. For all they do for man kind, (millions have died trying to cure us),and one even went into outer space, don't we owe it to them to protect them? They,in my opinion,are God's greatest creatures. I have put up my life for my dog when another dog attacked us. Maybe you got a big loving family (this to the person who says dogs are JUST for companionship.) You got your head so far in the sand, you forget all the points i make in my email. A dog has probably used to find a new drug to save someone you love, and on and on. Ask a cop,disabled person, fireman,bomb squad, DEA drug agent,rearch and rescue people about WORKING DOGS. Not your mothers poodle,although dogs bring immersureable pleasure to LONELY people. You wouldn't know though. So I'm telling you. Hopefully,and by your attitude,your gonna be lonely one day. Get a pet rock. Yea, PETA goes too far. But there are other organizations that don't. Man, what a great heart you have. I'll promise you'll be lonely one day just by your attitude and remarks without first using your common sense. You got kids? Well, you don't want no stupid dog looking for them if they get lost, do you. Or waking up a loved one in a fire. NAH!!!! You can do it yourself. Sorry for the mistakes in my last post. Everybody makes them,all but a select few who know about others feelings about dogs and forget all they have done for mankind. Oh, my dog was paper trained in 3 days, and in 12 years has NEVER used the floor for a potty. How long did it take your kid to stop $%^&ing in his pants? And your so sure your kids are going to be upstanding citizens and smart and lead perfect lives? Good luck lady. If you can't train a dog in a week, you can't train a child in 18 years. And every child should have a dog,inside. Just keep a clean home. Your kids will learn responseability from raising a dog. And love,which they may need as cold as you sound. Oh, am i trying to tell you how to raise your kids? Well, you tried to tell me how crazy i was about my dog. None of your business if i want to spend a million on him. And as God's truth, if you offered me a million for him, and he's 12, i wouldn't have to think twice to dismiss you. Does that make me evil,stupid,or crazy? No. It just mens unless your greedy, you won't sell everything close to your heart. Would you sell your kids for 10 million?

I never said PETA was not an extreme organization...they are...but in my humble opinion, extreme organizations are necessary to open the public's eye's to causes that need our eyes open to them. PETA does provide the necessary fuel to flame the fire needed in extreme cases and yes, dogfighting is an extreme case...

And to those of you who think it's ridiculous to love your pets as much as your children, all I can say is you don't and probably never will know what you're missing. By being a loving pet parent and by contributing to the welfare & safety of the stray pet population, I'm teaching my children to love and care for their future pets in the proper way and I'm also teaching them to give back to their community by helping those that need our help. My children will continue my legacy of caring for their animals and teaching their children to do the same. I guess you can just call us a ridiculously loving and generous family. Our hearts are content with that so we accept that label.
