On Thursday, a federal grand jury indicted a man arrested in Limestone County for illegally re-entering the United States.
According to the indictments, Arturo Fernando Arizpe-Torres was found in Limestone on Nov. 14 despite being deported to Mexico from Hidalgo, Texas, in November 2010.
The maximum penalty for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien is two years in prison and a $250 fine. The sentence can be increased to a 20-year maximum if the alien was deported following a conviction of an aggravated felony.
An indictment is a formal charge, not a conviction.
