It would be nice to have the road widened. However, they should have stepped up a lot sooner as they just re-paved the road last year. That makes it such a waste.
No Michelle, it doesn't. Even if they widen the road, it will take at least 2 years, possibly more, to complete the project. It has to be designed, probably by a consultant, then go through numerous reviews (by state personnel), then finalized. Once the plans are finished, it has to be sent out for bids, that is, if there is enough money to complete the project. Once the bids are in, the contract is awarded and it usually takes around 2-4 months for the contractor to begin. If the project will require an entire new section, which this one will, it will probably be let in two contracts, meaning 3 or 4 years until completion. By that time, if 67 had not been resurfaced, it would be falling apart. I realize that most people see that as a waste of money, but they don't realize the process of getting a new road either. Be glad that 1st Division is taking care of the roads they have!!!
