Guess the old addage of "Don't take a knife to a gun fight" didn't prove correct here!
Brick: They overserve like a lot of bars in town but they seem to have all of the fights. Got nothing against bars, but I do when they overserve.
Didn't know The Brick was open on Tuesday night.
The Brick has made a statement saying that this did not happen in or at The Brick. There was a stabbing in the public parking lot by The Brick involving the owner of a neighboring business.
The BRICK is closed on Tuesdays. The reporter makes it seem like it happened by Brick patrons, but failed to check to see if the Brick was even open.
the brick.
Wonder why the Daily didn't show a picture of Downtown Dawgs, which is right across the street. Particularly since the owner was involved in the fight and apparently it had nothing to do with The Brick.
WE SHOULD START A MOVEMENT TO OUTLAW KNIVES!
Good point Rita. A bar fight is more sensational.
You jobless critics of the newspaper should get lives... Then maybe thinking about getting a job so we can all come make fun of how you make French fries.
Has the other man not be identified??
Look for a primered pickup truck with 42 county plates and a hillbilly in it , they have always come to Decatur and caused trouble.
The brick did not cause it , the Idiots involved did , nor did the knife or the guns or the alcohol , some redneck idiot with an I,m an a hole attitude caused it and all the others. One sour turd ruins it for everyone , kinda like having a meth addict or crack head around they mess up everything for everybody. 99.9% of the brick patrons are good folks and decent if It even had anything to do with the Brick. Just the Daily pumping up something so you will read the bird cage liner.
Why does the idiots at the DD put a picture of The Brick in this article? It plainly states: "Decatur police Lt. Chris Jones said two men got into a fight in a parking lot in the 100 block of First Avenue Southeast, near the Brick Deli, shortly before 1 a.m." Why didn't they put a picture of Penn's Hamburgers or maybe City Cafe? What a bunch of IDIOTS!!!!!!!
So according to William, only people without jobs criticize the Daily. Am I hearing that right? Yeah, the comment by William makes a ton of sense.
It's crazy, stupid stories like this that gives the dry crowd in Hartselle something to talk about come election time. I ate at the Brick for lunch today. They are nice folks with a nice crowd. And the banana pudding is to die for.
Here's what WAFF is reporting and yes, they're showing a photo of the bar at the far end of the parking lot.
DECATUR, AL (WAFF)- One man is in the hospital after someone stabbed him outside a business in Decatur Wednesday.
Police said a fight broke out around 1:30 a.m. at the corner of East Moulton and First Avenue near a bar called The Brick.
30-year-old Scott Dutton of Decatur was stabbed in the upper body and had to be flown to Huntsville Hospital. He is in fair condition.
Investigators interviewed employees at the bar. Police said Dutton approached a man and a woman in the parking lot next to the bar and the argument escalated.
Two guns were recovered from the scene which investigators said belonged to Dutton.
Investigators do have a suspect but a name has not been released.
Of course the Brick said it was not patrons! Bet they were! I bet the big fight a few weeks ago (estimted 25-30 people) in the street in front of the Brick (blocking Moulton Street) didn't involve their patrons either. Give me a break!
The Brick is a nice place to eat and are nice people. They would never condone this kind of activity. Sometimes you can't control how bad other people act, even when you want to.
