I love Athens, it is a wonderful place

to life and visit.

Living in Decatur and working in Athens let's me see both sides. I will say this: Athens has a FAR more community feel in the downtown than Decatur. A disjointed Bank Street to 2nd Ave hurt Decatur's ability to compete with this. While Decatur's city leadership screams, yells and pouts, Athens is doing a great job in attracting businesses to stay downtown and serve as the economic driver for the area. While Decatur is great a "envisioning" ideas and coming up with studies and plans (all of which I support and hope one day to see), Athens is making it happen.

Athens has a great Mayor and Council. What does Decatur have?
