Looks like all the consultant firms that put money to Kyle's campaign is getting their kick backs now. Spending more money to renovate the old railroad station? Aren't we spending enough without that? What happened to that consideration of not buying it. Was that just to quiet the complains from the residents? What happened to that consultant years ago that was to help with widening Spring rd.? Is that obsolete now? Same consultant firm, right? We don't have any good consultatn firms here in Dectur? Sending a lot of our money to Brimingham is bad., Don. Things like this is what got you kicked out of office before. de Ja Vue?
For the record, the decision on the Railroad Depot was before Kyle came into office......and the mayor doesn't get a vote.
But the consultants were not contacted before Kyle, were they?
Consultants are used regularly. The Spring Avenue project is an example. In the 20 some odd years of work & planning, multiple obstacles and goals were passed as consultants were paid less than your local employees to achieve secific things. It is similar to hiring a grass cutter or a tree trimmer for your yard. The work still needs done periodically.
Consultants also provide your best chance at objectivity. In local government, loyalties can be quite a barrier to obtaining a truly objective report - particularly these days.
