By Ronnie Thomas
The Decatur Daily

When Pastor Rudy Guess called for prayer, some remained in their seats and prayed. Others knelt at the altar. An estimated 250 people came to First United Methodist Church in Decatur on Friday … More »

I keep reading all this praise for man who decided to murder two people. He did not give either a choice of life or death. Yes, do pray for the young lady, her Mother and her Fathers family but please stop talking about what a great and wonderful man this sick individual is. He should have just killed himself and not play God with his families life. You know you are the same people who comment on here what we should do with all these low lifes around here. If it were someone you did not know and was not involved in your church you would judge them much harsher. God is good and Man will always be corrupt, stop idolizing these individuals who control so much of your life. He is a murdering coward plain and simple who has ruined the lives of those he was supposed to protect.

I think we should hold our judgment until all the facts have been looked at. Not one of us knows what this man was going through mentally. For a devoted God-fearing man to do something this awful, I think he just lost it mentally for some reason and maybe God is the only one who knows for sure. We need to lift them up in our prayers and wait for the investigation to be completed. It is God's place to judge...not ours.

Right on Bill. Prayer is never a bad thing; prayer for forgveness, prayer for healing, and prayer for relief from the darkness that surrounds us. May all who are hurting find peace and comfort in the loving arms of God our father.

@ Jackson...... If you didn't kow Terry Greer personally you gave no right to make the judgement you've made! He is a child of God and a great man of God. He was not himself to do what he is accused of. He was involved in an automobile accident last October with severe injuries and a heart attack. Later he took a fall. I understand he was on medications for his health problems that apparently affected his judgement. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to never experience the things this man has endured. Terry was a wonderful preacher and good family man. The things he is accused of are completely out of character and was most likely caused by medicl problems.

Yes, I forgive him. I no longer care what happens to him. My thoughts and prayers are with the daughter. The mother's soul is already in heaven. Every time something like this happens with someone of the clergy committing a mortal sin, I turn more into my own self and resent the fact that they present themselves as a mentor.

Bill, in our country, a Circuit Court Judge, after listening to mental health specialist, will determine if Mr. Greer is mentally capable of being tried for murder and attempted murder. If he is capble, he will be judged by a jury of 12. They will determine his guilt or innocence. At this point he appears guilty and he is likely to spend the remainder of his life incarcerated. As for your point, yes, God will judge his creation at the great white throne of judgement. This man murdered his wife and tried to murder his daughter.

What the hell is this world coming to? Pastors killing family, police hunting illegally, people marrying same sex, children killing parents, parents, killing kids, kids just killing nybody, U.S. electing foreigners for president, road rage rampart, adultery all around us, priest abusing kids, child porn, racism*!&^#%ries fighting other countries, terrorist going nut claiming to follw the Koran, . Wit all this goin on, the fear of death is not that scary now.
